Finance, partially upgrade, operate, and maintain a 26km highway section for the Ministry of Transportation, British Columbia, Canada

The Kicking Horse Canyon Transit P3 project is a 25 year concession to finance, operate and maintain a 26 kilometre section of the highway, and to upgrade approximately six kilometres of that larger section. The client is the Ministry of Transportation, British Columbia, Canada.

The Kicking Horse Canyon Transit P3 project forms part of the Trans- Canada Highway, extending through the Canadian Rocky Mountains between British Columbia and Alberta. The key feature is a 400 metre four-lane bridge across Kicking Horse Canyon.

Financial close occurred in October 2005. Construction works were carried out by Trans-Park Highway Constructors, a joint venture comprising Flatiron Constructors Canada Limited and Parsons Overseas Company of Canada Limited, and were completed in September 2007. Capital expenditure was C$127 million.

Operations began in March 2008. Operations and maintenance services are being performed by EMCON.
