The M1-A1 Link Road (Lofthouse to Bramham) project is a 30 year shadow toll concession to finance, construct, operate, and maintain a motorway linking the M1, M621 and M62 motorways to the south of Leeds and the A1(M) south of Wetherby.

The Project reached Financial Close in March 1996 and had capital expenditure of circa £250 million. Construction works were carried out

by a joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Trafalgar House Construction (now Skanska Construction) and were completed in February 1999.

The concession is due to end in March 2026. Operation and maintenance of the motorway is undertaken by Balfour Beatty.
