Finance, construct, operate, and maintain four secondary and five primary schools for Perth & Kinross Council

The Perth and Kinross PPP project is a 34 year concession to finance, construct, operate, and maintain four secondary and five primary schools, with community facilities, on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council.

The new schools are located on six sites in the Perth and Kinross area of central Scotland and have capacity for 4,800 pupils (including 250 nursery, 1,400 primary and 3,150 secondary places). They have a built up area of 74,000 sqm.

Financial close was achieved in October 2007. The schools were constructed by Laing O’Rourke under a £136 million fixed-price construction contract.

The schools became operational in a phased approach between July 2009 and October 2011. Mitie PFI Limited provides both the Hard and Soft FM services and lifecycle obligations to the project, under a concession life contract.
