Finance, construct, operate, and maintain two secondary schools for Salford City Council

Salford and Wigan BSF Phase 1 project is a 26 year concession to finance, construct, operate, and maintain two new secondary schools on behalf of Salford City Council. The project is part of Salford City Council’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The new schools are located on two sites in Salford, Greater Manchester, and have capacity for 2,300 pupils within a built-up area of 23,000 sqm.

Financial close was achieved in December 2010. The schools were constructed between 2010 and 2011 by Laing O’Rourke, under a £56 million fixed-price contract.

The schools have been operational since September 2011. SPIE Facility Services Limited provides both the Hard and Soft FM services and lifecycle obligations to the project.
