Finance, construct, operate, and maintain three secondary schools for Salford City Council

Salford and Wigan BSF Phase 2 project is a 27 year concession to finance, construct, operate, and maintain three new secondary schools on behalf of Salford City Council. The project is part of Salford City Council’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The new schools are located on three sites in Salford, Greater Manchester, and have capacity for 2,600 pupils within a built-up area of 31,000 sqm. Financial close was achieved in November 2011.

Financial close was achieved in November 2011. The schools were constructed between 2011 and 2013 by Laing O’Rourke, under a £70 million fixed-price contract.

The schools have been operational since September 2013. SPIE Facility Services Limited provides both the Hard and Soft FM services and lifecycle obligations to the project.
